Classroom

Bhagat Classroom 1-6200D

When not reserved, this room is available for group use or individual study.

The classroom has a teaching station with PC computer connected to a ceiling mounted projector.  A cart of 20 surface pros is available for use in the room by request. Miner's Classroom is available for reservation through CEL resource scheduling.

Collaboration Space

Lobby Area

Located just inside the main entrance. A variety of seating and table options are available in this collaboration space. Talking in this area is allowed and encouraged!

Atrium

There are many tables and chairs placed along the walls of this long hallway. It’s a great place to study, to have an impromptu meeting, or to have lunch. Plenty of natural light from the skylights!

Quiet Space

Main Reading Room

Miner Library's main reading room is the original lobby of Strong Memorial Hospital. Lots of different seating, a fireplace, and plenty of outlets for your mobile computing are waiting here for you. The reading room is for individual quiet reading and study only.

History of Medicine

Here you'll find tables available for quiet study.

Off our main reading room, you will find additional study space. This is a popular, light-filled location for quiet, individual reading and study. You'll also find our individual study desks for a little more privacy to do your quiet study and work.

Study Carrels in Stacks

There are also several study carrels located on the upper and lower level of the stacks.

Multi-Use Space

Group Study Rooms on First Floor

There are 2 group rooms located on the first floor by the entrance. One holds approximately 20 people, the other up to 8. These rooms may be used for group collaboration or individual study. Available on a first-come, first served basis.

Group Study and Recording Room

The room features a  PC, microphone, speakers, and a wide array of software to help you develop all kinds of original content. Also a good place to take a Zoom meeting. You can reserve the room online. 

Please note: Your requested start time must be during regular Library hours.

Small Rooms in Stacks

There are four small study rooms located on the outer perimeter of the stacks. In each room there is a table, chairs and a chalkboard.

 

Whiteboards

Need to draw a diagram, outline a project, or do visual brainstorming? Whether studying alone or collaborating with a group, use one of the several whiteboards available throughout the library. Wall-mount whiteboards are available in many group study rooms or use one of our mobile whiteboards that can be moved anywhere within the library. They come with markers and eraser!
