University of Rochester is participating in the American Physiological Society (APS) Subscribe to Open (S2O) initiative by maintaining our exsisting subscriptions to select APS Journals.
Under S2O, the accessibility of APS previously subscriber-only content will depend on continued support from subscribers. APS will establish a minimum sustainability target each year to fund the journals. If a journal’s revenue target is not met by the offer deadline (January 31), the content of that journal will remain behind a paywall and available to subscribers only.
Any other APS journals not listed here are not part of our agremeent, and UR does not have an agreement that covers open access publication costs for those titles.
- Criteria for participation: University of Rochester corresponding author at time of submission.
- Description: Subscribe to Open (S2O) model with OA Guarantee for subscribing institutions - University-wide agreement with no publishing caps from APS Consolidated seven participating journals.
- Guidance for Authors:
- APS will check the email domain name of the corresponding author to confirm eligibility
- The corresponding author's affiliation must match the paying institution on the date of acceptance.
- It is the corresponding authors' responsibility to provide the correct affiliation information (including an institutional email address).
- Corresponding authors based at these subscribing institutions will be able to publish their articles open access and will not be charged APC fees but are still responsible for the standard flat fee to publish.
- Authors at subscribing institutions will receive guaranteed open access publishing regardless of whether the sustainability target is met (OA Guarantee).
- For more information or to check the current status of the program, see the American Physiological Society S2O information page.
- Period: 2025; renewable with subscription
