The agreement is a subscribe to open model where if the fees from participating institutions hits a certain amount, new scholarly monographs and edited collections will be made available in an open access format without book processing charges.
The MIT Press is the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's academic publishing house; the MIT Press Direct collection has over 3,000 eBooks and adds around 150 additional titles each year.
Author Instructions
- Applies to MIT Press accepted manuscripts.
- Monographs and edited scholarly works published in 2022 will be eligible when the model reaches the financial target.
- Agreement is in place from 1/1/2022 - 12/31/2024.
