Health Equity Education: Background

Equity and Anti-Racism Action Plan: Health Equity Education

Engaging in equitable health care includes educating a workforce that understands, empathizes, and works to improve systems towards eliminating disparities in health outcomes. As such, health equity education is part of the University of Rochester Medical Center’s Equity and Anti-Racism Action Plan.

The Health Equity Education Task Force was developed to provide support to schools and clinical departments to implement health equity education.

Equity and Anti-Racism Action Plan

The University of Rochester Medical Center created the Equity and Anti-Racism Action Plan, a five-year plan that reflects input and ideas from medical students, residents, trainees, faculty members, and staff across the Medical Center, along with supportive groups and individuals from the Greater Rochester community. It calls us as individuals and collectively as an institution to buildrecruitnurtureexemplify, and engage in the work of being anti-racist.
